  The Grand Rehabilitation & Nursing at Utica is seeking a skilled and professional Hairdresser to join our team.

Licensed Hairdresser needed. Provide haircuts, styling, and coloring to residents with flexible schedule and rates.

Job Details

  • Job Type: Independent Contractor

  • Location: Utica, NY

  • Schedule: Flexible, 2-days a week

  • Setting: On-site salon in skilled nursing facility (built in clientele of up to 220 people!)

About the Facility

The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Utica provides long-term care and short-term rehabilitation services to our community. Our on-site salon offers hair care services to residents in a safe, welcoming environment.

Position Summary

We are seeking a licensed Hairdresser to provide professional hair services to residents. This role allows you to manage your own schedule, set your own rates, and bring your skills to a supportive, senior-focused community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide haircuts, styling, coloring, perms, and treatments

  • Ensure resident safety and comfort during services

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area according to health standards

  • Communicate with residents and families to understand hair care preferences

  • Maintain professional tools and supplies

  • Handle client payments and invoicing independently

Qualifications

  • Licensed Hairdresser in New York State

  • Professional liability insurance as required for independent contractors

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule

  • Experience with seniors is a plus, but not required
