As a Finance Manager at Whirlpool, you will join our world-class Finance organization. Depending on your background and the most pressing business needs, you may be placed into critical leadership roles across various areas including Commercial Finance, Cost & Operations, Corporate Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), or Global Strategic Sourcing.
This role in summary
In this role, you will act as a strategic partner to the business, driving financial performance, understanding overall business objectives, and setting strategic direction for your area. You will frame and clarify analytical problems, drive cross-functional planning, and build strong fellowship among teams and business partners to embed lasting value and protect our business controls
Our primary hiring location is Benton Harbor, Michigan and all roles are fully onsite. A comprehensive relocation package is available for eligible candidates.
Your responsibilities will include
  • Financial Strategy & Planning: Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes. Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for growth or cost optimization
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with [GAAP / IFRS] standards. Present fiscal metrics directly to executive leadership
  • Serve as an agent and sponsor for change for the Finance organization, challenging status quo thinking and taking informed risks to expand opportunities
  • Identify areas of opportunity independently and formulate actionable, strategic plans to solve complex business problems and close knowledge/system gaps
  • Make timely decisions that balance speed and sufficient data/information to navigate dynamic business environments
  • Effectively articulate strategic and operational goals and progress to all levels of the organization, translating macroeconomic trends into actionable business insights
  • Lead cross-functional planning and forecasting processes, identifying upstream and downstream process and control implications across finance and business functions
  • Supervise, evaluate, and develop talent, actively managing career development plans, teaching complicated concepts, and identifying strengths and areas of opportunity within your team
  • Cash Flow & Capital Management: Monitor and optimize working capital, manage cash flow forecasting
  • Internal Controls & Audit: Establish, maintain, and audit robust internal financial controls to safeguard

Minimum requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field
  • 5+ years of professional work experience in corporate finance, accounting, or related fields

Preferred skills and experiences
  • MBA or professional financial certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, FRM)
  • High proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and data extraction/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Determined, perseverant mindset with a track record of achieving aspirational targets despite obstacles
  • Insightful and receptive to feedback, demonstrating flexibility to learn, grow, and anticipate issues quickly
