Position: Sr. Electrical Engineer
Job Type: Full Time, On-Site
Location: Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Canandaigua, NY (Relocation assistance provided) SteerBridge is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer (EE) to support Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) infrastructure upgrades for the Department of Veterans Affairs at Canandaigua VA Medical Center.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong background in low voltage construction projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in electrical design, construction oversight, and inspection, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and reliable electrical systems. Responsibilities: Lead and oversee low voltage electrical projects from design to completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
Conduct detailed inspections of electrical construction to verify proper installation, functionality, and adherence to engineering designs.
Provide technical guidance and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, project managers, and stakeholders.
Identify and troubleshoot complex electrical issues, proposing effective solutions to optimize system performance and reliability.
Prepare comprehensive reports, documentation, and recommendations to support project success and regulatory compliance. Required Qualifications:
Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Background Check: Must be eligible and able to pass a federal background check.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or higher Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of professional electrical engineering experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience inspecting electrical construction projects.
Proven expertise in low voltage electrical systems and projects.
Project Portfolio: Must provide a minimum of three (3) examples of projects that reflect the same, similar, or greater scale and complexity as the VAMC Construction Project. Key Competencies:
