Job description

Position Overview

Discovery Kidzone is seeking a Part-Time Infant Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This position begins on August 24. The Assistant Teacher works alongside the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where infants can learn and grow through responsive care, daily routines, and play-based experiences.


We are looking for caring, dependable individuals who enjoy supporting young children's early development and thrive in a collaborative classroom setting.


Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher with the daily care and supervision of infants and toddlers
  • Prepare bottles and follow proper feeding and food storage procedures
  • Change diapers and support age-appropriate toileting routines
  • Engage children through sensory activities, music, storytelling, movement, and play
  • Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
  • Maintain consistent routines for feeding, naps, and classroom activities
  • Ensure children's safety and well-being throughout the day
  • Document daily activities and communicate updates with families using the center's communication app
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to support classroom operations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and healthy classroom environment


Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • CPR and First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire
  • Previous childcare experience is helpful but not required
  • Interest in infant development
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Patient, dependable, and organized approach to working with young children
  • Ability to complete all required state licensing trainings and requirements
