Nassau BOCES is seeking a 12-month Program Specialist I to support and expand SEED Academy, our Agency-wide professional learning initiative serving both instructional and non-instructional staff. The successful candidate will design, deliver, and support high-quality professional learning that strengthens technology use, staff productivity, instructional effectiveness, and organizational efficiency. This role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners, the ability to align training to staff roles and agency priorities, and a commitment to data-informed professional development with measurable outcomes. The Program Specialist I will also remain current on emerging technologies, instructional trends, adult learning practices, and policies related to data privacy and professional development.
REQUIREMENTS:
- New York State Education Department Certification: School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL)
- Experience supporting instructional and non-instructional staff through face-to-face, hybrid, and virtual professional learning aligned with the effective use of technology
- Proven ability to design and deliver staff training on current digital tools and technology trends, including artificial intelligence, Microsoft Office productivity tools, instructional technologies, student information systems, and related platforms
- Demonstrated understanding of data security, privacy regulations, and agency policies
- Excellent coaching, interpersonal, written, verbal, and communication skills
- Knowledge of adult learning theory and differentiated professional learning approaches
- Ability to travel throughout Nassau County
