Job Description

Purpose of the Position:

The Medical Assistant Instructor provides classroom and/or online instruction, evaluates student performance, and offers feedback and individualized support to promote student success. The role involves delivering and maintaining curriculum, using diverse teaching methods and technology, and fostering an inclusive learning environment.  Additional responsibilities include maintaining student records, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, participating in professional development, collaborating with faculty and leadership, and supporting students through academic concerns.

Job responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive instruction to Medical Assistant students using the approved curriculum.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise and stay current with course content and outcomes.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Provide individualized support and tutoring to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Utilize varied teaching methods to enhance learning and continuous improvement.
  • Foster an inclusive, culturally responsive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Use the Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver content and track student progress.
  • Maintain accurate student records (attendance, competencies, and progress).
  • Participate in curriculum planning, development, and program improvement efforts.
  • Engage in professional development and apply best practices in teaching.
  • Collaborate with faculty and leadership, attend meetings, and assist with resolving student concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, procedures, and academic standards.
  • This position requires full-time, on-site work on site/campus up to 5 days per week. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available for this role.
Qualifications

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Associate degree preferred
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program Required
  • Medical Assistant Certification Required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on clinical experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Demonstrated competency in clinical procedures, medical terminology, and administrative healthcare functions
  • Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience preferred
  • Ability to effectively deliver instruction and evaluate student performance
  • Strong communication skills and ability to support diverse student populations
  • Meets institutional requirements for faculty qualifications based on education and/or experience
