Job description

Head Girls' Lacrosse Coach Position Summary
The Head Girls' Lacrosse Coach is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the school's girls' lacrosse program. The coach provides instruction, leadership, and supervision while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, character development, and academic success. The Head Coach is expected to foster a positive and inclusive environment that supports student-athletes both on and off the field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and conduct practices that develop individual and team skills.
  • Develop and implement offensive, defensive, and conditioning programs appropriate to the team's needs.
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, team travel, and other team activities.
  • Promote good sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and spectators.
  • Establish and communicate team expectations, rules, and standards of conduct.
  • Encourage academic achievement and monitor student-athlete eligibility in accordance with district and state regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with the Athletic Director, school administration, coaches, parents, and community members to support the athletic program.
  • Maintain accurate team records, equipment inventories, and required documentation.
  • Ensure the proper care, storage, and security of athletic equipment and facilities.
  • Attend required coaches' meetings, professional development, and rules clinics.
  • Ensure compliance with all district policies, state athletic association rules, and applicable safety regulations.
  • Assist with program development, including offseason activities and youth outreach, as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties related to the athletic program as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Previous coaching experience in lacrosse or a related sport is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lacrosse rules, strategies, and player development.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with students, parents, staff, officials, and community members.
  • Ability to supervise student-athletes in a safe and effective manner.
Required Certifications
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain prior to the season).
  • Completion of all district-required coaching certifications and trainings.
  • Successful completion of all required background screening and employment requirements.
Working Conditions
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday work is required during the athletic season.
  • Frequent standing, walking, running, bending, lifting, and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry athletic equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
