Business Credit Office provides front line credit and risk ownership including writing credit papers, performing credit analysis, modelling projection and enterprise valuation analysis, coordinating with internal stakeholders (such as Credit Risk, relationship managers, global partners, and product teams), and delivering sound recommendations based on robust business, relationship, and industry analysis using expert judgement and conforming with internal credit policies/guidelines and external regulatory requirements.

As our Senior Vice President, US Business Credit Office you will: Deliver the business strategy with strong knowledge of Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) priorities, with a focus on Fintech, and supporting coverage of NBFIs (non-bank financial institutions) and/or broader financial institutions, partnering with CIB relationship bankers, product teams, and risk stewards to deliver the strategy aligned to risk appetite Build strategic and valued relationships with customers, applying sector knowledge to provide value-add advice and support Adhere to HSBC policies, procedures, and control requirements and raise any concerns about actual or potential issues promptly, in line with reporting and escalation procedures Ensure all actions consider the likelihood of operational risk occurring, addressing areas of concern in conjunction with Risk and relevant colleagues and ensuring that actions resulting from internal/external audits and external regulators are correctly implemented in a timely fashion You'll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role: Significant, hands-on corporate and institutional banking credit underwriting experience, ideally covering Fintech and related NBFI and/or financial institution clients Strong structuring and credit underwriting experience Thorough understanding of Fintech business models and their associated credit and risk profiles (and, where relevant, the NBFI/financial institution risk profile of respective transactions) Ability to analyse situations effectively and make well thought-out decisions Lead credit engagement to help Relationship Managers optimise relationship value, improve client engagement, and deliver needs-based solutions and fair customer outcomes Enable proactive client management by attending client meetings (as needed) and acting as a first point of contact for credit-related customer enquiries Proven leadership skills including coaching, motivation, and communication skills to inspire others Strong teamwork skills promoting an environment of co-operation and trust, overcoming resistance where encountered Strong analytical and financial skills Excellent prioritising, organisational and time management abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills As an HSBC employee, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities to ensure you have the right skills for today and tomorrow.
