Clean Fuel Accounting Supervisor - Decatur, IL
Carbohydrate Solutions Controlling
This is a full-time, exempt level position.
Position Summary:
Accountants at ADM have a general understanding of accounting systems and processes and should be considered highly knowledgeable in assigned areas. They have strong ability to prepare and review accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards defined within the department. They must demonstrate self-confidence in dealing with management at various levels and various administrative, commercial, and operations areas as applicable. They should demonstrate ability to support projects through to completion.
Responsibilities:
  • Complete monthly accounting work per US GAAP guidelines and perform relevant analysis for clean fuel activities
  • Perform and support internal and externally required program reporting
  • Perform self-review of work outputs and evaluation of process inputs in order to identify errors in financial results and come to resolution as needed
  • Understand, execute, and evaluate the effectiveness of end to end Key Financial Controls (SOX requirements)
  • Work with relevant business partners to provide insight and analysis into financial results and ensure that the financial statements accurately reflect business activity related to clean fuel activities
  • Understand and preserve the accuracy of relevant balance sheet(s)
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and/or supporting schedules
  • Understand and apply clean fuel regulations to accounting processes
  • Partner with business leaders, finance, technical accounting, and external support on all end to end clean fuel activities
  • Critically evaluate the processes performed understand span of control and initiate changes and escalations as needed
Required Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Ability understand and apply technical guidance for clean fuel activities
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Internal Controls
  • Financial Analysis and operations
  • Knowledge of Governance, Risk and Compliance
  • Designing Queries and Reports using Financial Systems

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
Experience:
  • 2-6 years accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with tax or other highly technical accounting
  • CPA, similar professional certification preferred but not required
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to safely and successful perform the essential job functions consistent with qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Standard office safety regulations
