Job description

The Business Process Analyst is responsible for enhancing the efficiency, consistency, and scalability of Billing and Freight Audit operations. Through process analysis, documentation, automation support, and cross-functional collaboration, this role helps drive operational excellence while ensuring compliance with customer and contractual requirements.
Responsibilities:
Carrying out the Company's organizational values and operating in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies are required functions. Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Analyze, document, and improve Billing and Freight Audit processes to drive standardization, efficiency, and consistent execution across operations. Maintain process documentation, procedures, controls, and governance standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance productivity, quality, and operational effectiveness. Support automation initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and implement solutions.
  • Provide operational support for Billing and Freight Audit functions, including customer processing, implementations, testing, issue resolution, and workload balancing to meet business and customer needs.
  • Develop and maintain billing and freight audit controls by reviewing customer contracts, pricing agreements, and operational requirements to ensure compliance, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Monitor process performance and operational metrics to support continuous improvement and business decision-making. Lead training, communication, and change management efforts to promote adoption of standardized processes and best practices.
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
Course(s) of Study: Business, Supply Chain, Finance or MIS.
Experience: 3-5 years
Type of Experience: Business process analysis, operational excellence, transportation operations, freight audit, billing processes, project management, or related disciplines.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to evaluate, document, standardize, and improve complex business processes. Ability to analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies and control gaps, conduct root cause analysis, and implement practical solutions that enhance quality, productivity, compliance, and service performance. Skilled in interpreting customer contracts, pricing agreements, tariffs, and billing requirements and translating them into operational processes, audit controls, and business rules. Demonstrated ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration, influence change, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with employees at all levels. Proficiency in process mapping, process documentation, continuous improvement methodologies, data analysis, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications is required. Knowledge of transportation operations, freight audit, billing, and carrier payment processes is preferred.

Physical Demands Of The Job:
Team member must be able to twist, bend, pull, push, and lift up to 25 pounds. May work in excess of 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, as required to perform essential functions. Team member will be required to stand, walk, sit, use fingers, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Team member will present a neat, clean appearance of self, and use professional business etiquette and language. Must be able to operate office equipment; including telephone, copy/fax machine, personal computer, have reasonable accuracy and speed on ten key skills and/or keyboarding.
Environmental Demands Of The Job:
This position typically works in an office environment, but often is in the field working with various departments.
