What is a professional blogger?

A professional blogger is someone who creates and manages blog content as their primary job or a significant source of income. They write posts, develop content strategies, interact with readers, and often collaborate with brands or advertisers. Professional bloggers may work independently or for organizations, and they typically use their blogs to share expertise, promote products, or build an online presence. Success in professional blogging often involves strong writing skills, digital marketing knowledge, and consistent audience engagement.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a professional blogger?

To thrive as a Professional Blogger, you need strong writing skills, content creation expertise, and a solid understanding of digital marketing and SEO principles. Familiarity with blogging platforms (such as WordPress), social media management tools, and basic analytics is typically required. Adaptability, creativity, and effective time management are essential soft skills for consistently producing engaging content and building an audience. These skills help ensure your blog reaches and resonates with readers while supporting growth and monetization goals.

What are some common challenges professional bloggers face in maintaining consistent content quality and engagement?

Professional bloggers often encounter challenges such as writer’s block, balancing creativity with SEO requirements, and keeping up with evolving audience interests. Maintaining consistency in publishing high-quality posts while managing deadlines can be demanding, especially when working independently. Additionally, bloggers must continuously interact with their audience through comments and social media, which requires strong time management and communication skills. Collaborating with guest writers or editors can help distribute workload and introduce fresh perspectives.

What is the difference between Professional Blog vs Content Writer?

How do you become a professional blogger?

To become a professional blogger, you should develop strong writing skills, create a niche or target audience, and consistently produce high-quality content. Building an online presence through social media and SEO techniques can help grow your readership and attract monetization opportunities. Gaining experience through personal projects or freelance work can also enhance your credibility in the field.

Job description

About COMBASE USA:
COMBASE USA is the parent company behind KORONA POS, a fast-growing point-of-sale platform built for retail, ticketing, and specialty verticals. We're a lean international team that moves fast and takes care of our clients. We pride ourselves on being forward-thinking and creating innovative systems. Our solutions help businesses improve their competitiveness, profitability, and workforce motivation.
About the role:
KORONA POS is cloud point-of-sale software. Our customers are operators, not IT departments, and they need to configure inventory, promotions, age verification, reporting, and multi-store settings, etc., without a consultant on retainer.
The Technical Content Specialist owns the content that gets them there: the product manual, the knowledge base, video tutorials, onboarding materials, and the technical end of our blog. At its core, this role takes genuinely complicated features and makes them clear.
The role also begins with a support residency. For the first 90-180 days, you will work inside our Support department, handling live customer tickets alongside our support team, before transitioning to Marketing full-time. This is not a probationary period but rather a necessary step to acquire the product depth and customer empathy the job requires.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Documentation & Knowledge Base
  • Own and maintain the KORONA POS user manual/help center, including new features, releases, and retiring outdated content.
  • Identify documentation gaps and maintain consistent, accurate terminology, screenshots, and instructions across the platform.

Video Tutorials
  • Create short-form tutorials covering setup, features, and troubleshooting in partnership with the design/video team.
  • Maintain an organized, up-to-date tutorial library as the product evolves.

Customer Onboarding Content
  • Develop onboarding materials including setup checklists, quick-start guides, configuration templates, and training resources.
  • Partner with Support and Sales to address common customer challenges and create vertical-specific onboarding experiences.

Technical Blog & Product Content
  • Write technical content including feature deep-dives, integration/compliance guides, migration resources, release notes, and changelogs.
  • Review technical content across Marketing to ensure product accuracy and consistency.

Internal & Partner Enablement
  • Create Support resources such as troubleshooting guides, response libraries, and escalation references.
  • Develop product training for resellers/VAR partners and review Sales materials for technical accuracy.

Cross-Functional
  • Stay involved in product releases to proactively prepare documentation and launch materials.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with Support and Product to stay current on customer feedback, product changes, and improvement opportunities.

First-Year Structure:
  • Days 1-90: Support residency focused on learning the product, working live tickets, and building foundational help-center content based on documentation gaps.
  • Days 91-180: Transition to Product Marketing, with a limited ongoing Support commitment while establishing the documentation strategy, style guide, and tutorial library.
  • Days 181-365: Full ownership of the documentation roadmap, tutorial library, and onboarding content, with continued cross-functional collaboration with Support and Product.

How We'll Measure Success:
At 6 months:
  • Support residency completed with a strong body of published content.
  • Documentation audit and prioritized content-gap backlog completed.
  • Style guide established and initial tutorial library launched.

At 12 months:
  • Measurable improvement in documentation effectiveness, onboarding, and support-ticket reduction.
  • New product features consistently documented at release.
  • Support and Sales regularly using and relying on the content created.

What We Offer:
  • Base salary of $50,000-$60,000
  • Health insurance
  • Retirement plan
  • Paid vacation and sick leave

Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and video conferencing tools. Remote work during travel periods is expected and supported.
Physical Demands:
This role is primarily desk-based in a professional office environment. During trade shows and events, the role requires extended periods of standing and walking on the show floor, as well as occasionally lifting and transporting booth materials and equipment (up to 30-40 lbs). Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
