WHO WE ARE
The Dock Spiders, located in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin (between Green Bay and Milwaukee), are a member of the Northwoods League (NWL), one of the most prestigious summer collegiate baseball leagues in the country. Our Mission: "Our team will create the best entertainment experience in Wisconsin so that every guest walks away with a smile and the desire to return." The Dock Spiders exist to bring family-friendly entertainment to the city of Fond du Lac and the surrounding areas. Whether you're a die-hard baseball fan or just looking to have a fun night with family and friends, a Fond du Lac Dock Spiders game is the place to be! The Dock Spiders were formed in Fond du Lac in 2017 as an entry into the Northwoods League. Since entering the Northwoods League, the Dock Spiders have won two NWL titles, the first coming in 2018 and then again in 2020 when the league divided into regional pods.
THE POSITION
The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders are looking for an Assistant Coach that is passionate and dedicated to developing college athletes into professional baseball players. As an Assistant Coach, you will adhere to all NWL guidelines and build upon the long-term relationships that the organization has developed. The ideal coaching candidate will be committed to professionalism, player development, sportsmanship, and the organization's mission. We want a coach that will contribute to a winning team that will hold players accountable while fostering an environment that provides the best experience for players, coaches, fans, community partners, staff, and all those involved with the organization.
JOB SUMMARY
The Dock Spiders are looking for multiple Assistant Coaches for the 2027 season. Candidates should have a proven track record of success in college baseball. Candidates must possess enthusiasm for Northwoods League baseball, great communication skills, and a desire to help develop high-level athletes. We aim to provide the best overall experience in all of summer baseball, and assistant coaches are crucial to maintaining our culture and representing the Dock Spiders organization in this way. Preference will be given to those with extensive background in hitting, baserunning, and defense. Ability to throw batting practice, hit fungos, and assist in roster building are each a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
โ€ข Perform the physical demands of coaching (throw batting practice, hit fungos, etc.)
โ€ข Perform the tactical duties of coaching (help build lineups, assess mechanics, in-game decisions, etc.)
โ€ข Assist at baseball camps and other Dock Spiders special events and appearances
โ€ข Assist with field and facility maintenance as needed
โ€ข Work with the clubhouse operations staffer on laundry expectations, equipment needs, inventory, etc.
โ€ข Ensure team maintains a clean locker room, dugouts, bullpens, bus, hotel rooms, host family housing, etc.
โ€ข Other duties as assigned
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
โ€ข College baseball coaching or playing experience
โ€ข Must be available for entirety of season (End May through Mid-August)
โ€ข Must be able to fulfill physical demands of coaching
โ€ข Strength and conditioning experience a plus
โ€ข Desire to continuously learn and keep up-to-date with industry trends, including utilization of analytical data
โ€ข Ability to work long hours, including weekends, nights, and holidays as determined by scheduled events
