POSITION SUMMARY:

Actively ensures that production activities are carried out in the safest, most environmentally responsible, cost-effective manner and that all production meets or exceeds quality specifications. Sets up and operates equipment according to prescribed instructions for the manufacturing of products. Operates automatic and semi-automatic production machines in all phases of the manufacturing process. Performs a variety of manual activities. Adheres to all safety policies and procedures. Prepares raw materials in the production area for processing and moves finished product to warehouse area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Follows all safety policies and procedures including use of safety equipment (PPE) and equipment safeguards
  • Performs all CMC production duties accurately and with minimal supervision
  • Operates CMC production equipment safely producing quality products consistently
  • Follows all Production related Standard Operating Procedures
  • Prepares raw materials for processing by following the formula sheets and appropriate instructions and SOP’s
  • Moves materials to the point of use and ensures that proper machine settings and temperatures have been set
  • Monitors process conditions and makes adjustment to equipment as appropriate to ensure a quality product
  • Maintains a log of each product processed – CMC Production Sheet; This includes product code, lot number, number of bags filled and weight, date, operator's name, and other operational comments
  • Operates a variety of equipment and machines such as fork lift, product bagger, sealer, blender, scales, floor scrubber, air compressors, dust collectors, and hand tools
  • Performs housekeeping duties including moving and washing equipment, disassembling and reassembling equipment as needed; sweeping and scrubbing floors to maintain a safe work area free of clutter and debris
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures including use of safety equipment (PPE) and equipment safeguards
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires a high school certificate or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions; good oral communication skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Continuous physical activity throughout the work day such as climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting (60 lbs.), hearing, talking, repetitive motion and moving objects up to 100 lbs (typically with assistance)
