Job description

Production / Packline Associate

4x10 Schedule, Monday - Thursday

Butler, IN

$18–$20/hour

1st and 2nd Shift Opportunities

Perfect Placement Group is recruiting Production / Packline Associates for an established, family-owned steel processing manufacturer in Butler, Indiana.

This can be a strong opportunity for someone with a stable work history who is comfortable in an industrial environment, wants a consistent schedule, and would like the opportunity to learn additional manufacturing skills over time.

This is direct hire with the company, not a temporary assignment.

Schedule

1st Shift

Monday–Thursday: 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

Friday: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM as production requires

2nd Shift

Monday–Thursday: 4:30 PM–3:00 AM

Friday: 4:30 PM–1:00 AM as production requires

Second shift includes a $1/hour shift differential.

The core schedule is four 10-hour days. During higher-volume periods, Friday overtime may be required.

What You’ll Do

Packline employees work at the end of the steel-processing operation preparing finished material for shipment to customers.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Banding and securing finished steel products
  • Preparing finished material for shipment
  • Checking product labels, tags, and identification numbers for accuracy
  • Helping ensure customers receive the correct material
  • Working safely around production equipment and material-handling activity
  • Potentially operating a forklift as business needs require
  • Keeping pace with production while maintaining accuracy and safety

What We’re Looking For

Prior steel experience is not required for the right candidate.

We care more about:

  • Reliable attendance and work history
  • Willingness to learn
  • Comfort working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to stay active and on your feet during a 10-hour shift
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently
  • Comfort working as part of a production team
  • Reliable transportation to Butler, Indiana

Manufacturing, warehouse, construction, material-handling, or other physically active work experience can translate well.

Know What You’re Signing Up For

We want candidates to understand the job before they accept it.

This is a steel-processing plant. The work includes:

  • Spending significant time standing and moving on concrete floors
  • Working 10-hour production shifts
  • Industrial machinery and plant noise
  • Required safety-toe footwear
  • Working around large steel coils and material-handling equipment
  • A workplace where showing up reliably and working throughout the shift are important

This is not extraordinarily heavy manual labor, but a 10-hour industrial shift can be an adjustment for someone coming from a less active work environment.

Qualified candidates will have an opportunity to tour the facility before accepting an offer.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

Employees receive:

  • Direct-hire employment
  • Core 4-day / 10-hour schedule
  • Weekly attendance incentive of $1 per hour
  • Additional company bonus opportunities
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • 401(k) with company match
  • PTO and vacation eligibility
  • Paid holidays
  • Company-provided uniforms
  • Weekly catered employee lunch
  • Opportunities to learn additional production skills and move into higher-skilled positions

The company has employees with significant tenure and is willing to train people who demonstrate reliability, aptitude, and interest in learning additional jobs.
