Job description

Supply Chain Manager

Location: Miami Office, Florida

Reports to: Managing Director, USA

Department: Supply Chain

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to $120,000 per annum depending on experience

Role Overview

Black Sheep Coffee is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Supply Chain Manager to lead the development and day-to-day management of our supply chain across the United States.

Based in Miami and reporting directly to the Managing Director, USA, the role will take ownership of supplier sourcing and performance, commercial negotiations, demand planning, inventory, distribution, product availability, Cost of Goods Sold and supply chain compliance across both corporate and franchise operations.

The Supply Chain Manager will work closely with the Head of Category & Product and the wider UK-based Supply Chain and NPD teams. This will ensure the US benefits from established ways of working, global product development and relevant learning from the UK and GCC, while building a supply chain that reflects the specific needs of the US market.

The role will work particularly closely with the International Supply Chain Coordinator to ensure products sourced from, developed in or shipped through the UK are delivered seamlessly into the US.

Working with the Managing Director and the wider US team, the Supply Chain Manager will also identify local market opportunities and lead the sourcing, costing and supply chain development required for US-specific products and menu proposals. Category & Product will retain overall governance of product strategy, development standards and final product approval.

This is a hands-on role requiring clear ownership, strong commercial judgement and the ability to build a reliable, scalable and cost-effective supply chain for a growing multi-site business.

Key Responsibilities US Supply Chain Strategy
  • Develop and deliver a US supply chain strategy aligned with the Managing Director's growth plan and the wider international supply chain direction.
  • Build the supplier, distribution and inventory infrastructure required to support existing stores, new openings and future franchise growth.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Category & Product to apply established standards and best-in-class ways of working within the US.
  • Identify material risks, capacity constraints and commercial opportunities early, presenting clear recommendations to the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer.
  • Maintain practical contingency plans for critical products, suppliers and distribution routes.
Supplier and Commercial Management
  • Lead the sourcing, onboarding and ongoing management of US suppliers, distributors, warehouses and logistics partners.
  • Negotiate pricing, service levels, payment terms and commercial protections while maintaining product quality and brand standards.
  • Run structured tenders and supplier reviews to ensure the right balance of quality, service, resilience and value.
  • Maintain accurate supplier contracts, product specifications, pricing records and service-level agreements.
  • Hold suppliers accountable for performance, resolving service, quality and commercial issues promptly and sustainably.
  • Identify global purchasing leverage, shared suppliers and cross-market sourcing opportunities with the UK Supply Chain team.
Demand Planning, Inventory and Distribution
  • Own demand and supply planning across food, beverage ingredients, packaging, retail products and agreed operational consumables.
  • Produce accurate forecasts for business-as-usual trading, seasonal peaks, promotions, product launches and new store openings.
  • Maintain appropriate stockholding and safety-stock levels, balancing availability with working capital, shelf life and obsolescence risk.
  • Monitor stock, lead times, ordering patterns and inventory movement across corporate and franchise locations.
  • Manage the cost and performance of distributors, warehouses, carriers and other logistics partners.
  • Resolve shortages, overstock and delivery issues quickly, addressing root causes and communicating clearly with affected stakeholders.
COGS and Margin
  • Own supply chain inputs into US Cost of Goods Sold, budgets and forecasts.
  • Maintain accurate visibility of product, commodity, freight, inventory and distribution costs.
  • Identify sustainable cost savings and margin opportunities without compromising quality, availability or customer experience.
  • Challenge supplier price increases, purchase price variance, freight costs, waste and stock exposure.
  • Work with Finance to validate and realise savings and commercial benefits.
  • Provide clear commercial analysis before material supplier, product or distribution decisions are made.
Product Development and Launches
  • Work with the Head of Category & Product, NPD Manager and International Supply Chain Coordinator to translate the agreed product pipeline into a deliverable US supply plan.
  • Source suitable US ingredients, packaging and suppliers in line with approved specifications, brand standards and target costs.
  • Work with the Managing Director and the wider US team to identify local trends and develop US-specific product and menu proposals.
  • Lead the sourcing, costing, supplier readiness and supply chain planning for approved US product initiatives.
  • Confirm stock, shelf life, minimum order quantities, packaging and distribution readiness before launch.
  • Ensure launch stock is available in full and on time and complete post-launch reviews to address cost, waste or availability issues.
  • Share relevant US market insight and supplier innovation with the wider Category & Product team.
Quality, Compliance and Operational Support
  • Work with Quality Assurance to ensure suppliers, products and processes meet applicable US food safety, labelling, traceability and import requirements.
  • Protect approved product specifications and nominated supply routes across corporate and franchise operations.
  • Maintain supplier documentation and support investigations, withdrawals, recalls and corrective actions.
  • Act as the senior US point of contact for material supply chain issues affecting stores and franchise partners.
  • Develop supply plans for new store openings, including supplier setup, opening orders, delivery schedules and readiness checks.
  • Ensure supply chain risks affecting store openings or trading are identified and escalated early.
Reporting and Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain accurate supplier, item, specification, pricing and inventory data.
  • Develop a US supply chain scorecard covering availability, supplier service, inventory, waste, cost and risk.
  • Provide regular reporting to the Managing Director and relevant stakeholders, with clear actions, owners and deadlines.
  • Document core processes and controls to ensure the function remains consistent, auditable and scalable.
  • Work with Data & Analytics and IT to improve supply chain reporting, systems and visibility.
  • Continually identify and implement improvements that strengthen service, efficiency and commercial performance.
Requirements
  • Strong supply chain, procurement or distribution experience within a multi-site foodservice, hospitality, retail or consumer business.
  • Proven experience managing suppliers, commercial negotiations and supplier performance.
  • Practical experience across demand planning, inventory, logistics, distribution and product availability.
  • Strong understanding of COGS, product costing, margin, working capital and commercial decision-making.
  • Experience working with food, beverage or packaging categories would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience supporting both corporate and franchise operations would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of relevant US food safety, labelling, traceability and import requirements.
  • Strong analytical capability and experience using data to identify risks and commercial opportunities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including working across countries, functions and time zones.
  • Comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving business, with a practical and solutions-focused approach.
  • Able to travel within the US, with occasional international travel where required.
  • Must have the right to work in the United States.

A relevant degree or professional supply chain qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
