Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually

Job Title: Production Supervisor
Location: Caldwell, ID
Reports To: Plant Manager

Position Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations within the facility. This hands-on leadership role works closely with production employees to meet operational goals, maintain inventory accuracy, ensure product quality, and support on-time order fulfillment. The Production Supervisor promotes a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement while providing direct leadership and support to production staff. This position serves as a key operational partner to the Plant Manager in executing production schedules, optimizing workflows, and maintaining Summit Seed Coatings’ commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. This is a full-time, exempt, salary position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established production schedules and quality standards.
  • Lead, coach, and develop production employees by providing training, direction, performance feedback, and support to promote employee growth and operational success.
  • Monitor production processes, inventory levels, and material availability to ensure production demands and customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Maintain compliance with all quality assurance procedures, verifying products meet customer specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Shipping & Receiving, Quality Control, Maintenance, and Plant Management to coordinate workflow, resolve operational issues, and improve overall plant performance.
  • Ensure accurate inventory transactions, perform routine inventory audits, and investigate discrepancies to maintain inventory integrity.
  • Promote and enforce all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, maintaining a safe and organized work environment for all employees.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, increased productivity, waste reduction, and operational efficiency while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with production planning, labor scheduling, equipment utilization, and resource allocation to maximize operational effectiveness.
  • Support equipment troubleshooting and coordinate with maintenance personnel to minimize downtime and maintain production readiness.
  • Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation while utilizing company software systems and operational tools.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Manufacturing, Agricultural Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing, production, warehouse, or operations experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team leadership role.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop employees in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience with inventory management, production scheduling, order fulfillment, and quality control processes.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience using ERP or inventory management systems; NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety requirements, OSHA regulations, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism.
Physical & Behavioral Expectations
  • Ability to spend extended periods on the production floor, including standing, walking, bending, and performing hands-on operational tasks.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Demonstrates a hands-on leadership style and willingness to assist with production activities when needed.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and professional demeanor while effectively managing multiple priorities.
