  • Monitor roast curves, development times, batch consistency, and post-roast results.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain roasting equipment safely and properly.
  • Track roast data, production notes, and batch information using roasting software or internal systems.
  • Support production roasting for caf use, retail bags, wholesale accounts, catering, events, and special projects.
Quality Control
  • Participate in regular cuppings, tastings, and quality checks to ensure consistency and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluate green coffee, roasted coffee, and brewed coffee for flavor, quality, freshness, and defects.
  • Work with leadership to refine roast profiles, brewing standards, and product offerings.

  • Package roasted coffee for retail, wholesale, catering, and internal use.
  • Ensure bags are properly labeled, dated, sealed, and organized.
  • Prepare wholesale and internal coffee orders accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate with caf leadership, events teams, and wholesale clients to ensure coffee needs are met.
Inventory and Supply Management
  • Monitor green coffee, roasted coffee, packaging materials, labels, and production supplies.
  • Assist with inventory counts and communicate ordering needs in advance.
  • Receive, inspect, organize, and properly store green coffee and supplies.
  • Help control waste and ensure efficient use of coffee and materials.
Equipment and Workspace Care
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe roasting and production area.
  • Follow all food safety, workplace safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Perform regular cleaning and basic maintenance of roasting equipment, grinders, scales, bins, and production tools.
  • Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or quality problems promptly.
Team and Operational Support
  • Communicate clearly with caf managers, baristas, wholesale clients, and leadership regarding production needs.
  • Support training for baristas or team members on coffee knowledge, brewing standards, and product quality as needed.
  • Assist with coffee tastings, events, menu development, and special projects when needed.
  • Represent the coffee program with professionalism, care, and pride.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 12 years of coffee roasting experience preferred.
  • Experience operating commercial coffee roasting equipment preferred.
