The SAP Production Planning position involves overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of SAP's Production Planning module in support of our Dining division. You will work closely with Dining Operations, Business Transformation, Master Data and other IT teams to ensure the Dining production processes are efficiently supported by SAP systems. This role involves configuring SAP PP modules to manage data related to production scheduling, material requirements, and capacity planning. This role focuses heavily on recipe-based production, Bill of Materials (BOM) management, ingredient substitutions, and materials management to support high-volume, perishable, and demand-driven food operations. This position is based in Atlanta, GA
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Implement and configure SAP Production Planning (PP) module to support business operations.
• Monitor and optimize production planning processes, workflows, and system performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into SAP solutions.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve SAP PP system issues and inefficiencies.
• Perform system upgrades, enhancements, and testing of new functionalities.
• Develop, maintain, and update technical and functional documentation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and SAP best practices.
• Provide training and ongoing support to end-users.
SAP PP Configuration & Optimization
• Configure and support SAP PP functionalities including demand management, production orders, and capacity planning.
• Adapt SAP PP processes to support restaurant operations, including batch-based and daily preparation cycles.
Recipe & BOM Management
• Design and maintain restaurant recipe-based BOMs (ingredient-level structures with quantities, yields, and units of measure).
• Manage multi-level BOMs for menu items, semi-prepared components, and finished dishes.
• Ensure accurate yield calculations, portion scaling, and waste factors.
Substitution & Ingredient Flexibility
• Configure and maintain material substitution rules for ingredient shortages (e.g., alternative ingredients, seasonal variations).
Materials Management Integration
• Collaborate with SAP MM to manage ingredient procurement, inventory, and storage conditions (e.g., perishable goods, shelf life).
• Ensure seamless integration between PP and MM for stock availability, batch tracking, and consumption posting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work with restaurant operations and supply chain to gather and translate business requirements.
• Support integration with Finance (costing), Warehouse, and Procurement systems.
System Support & Continuous Improvement
• Troubleshoot SAP PP issues and optimize workflows.
• Deliver system enhancements, upgrades, and testing cycles.
• Maintain detailed technical and functional documentation
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with SAP Production Planning (PP) module.
• Strong knowledge of production planning processes and workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• SAP certification is a plus.
