The Senior Production & Material Planner is responsible for end-to-end planning and coordination of production and material flow in an Engineer-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing environment.
This role is focused primarly on production planning and supporting material planning, ensuring alignment between project schedules, capacity, and material availability.
The position requires strong expertise in SAP and advanced Excel, and plays a key role in driving schedule adherence, managing risks, and ensuring on-time delivery through cross-functional coordination.
Main responsibilities:
Production Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize detailed production schedules aligned with project milestones and customer commitments
  • Define and manage production priorities and sequencing based on business needs and material availability
  • Analyze capacity constraints, bottlenecks, and workload balancing across work centers
  • Monitor schedule adherence and implement corrective actions to mitigate delays
  • Coordinate and lead daily/weekly production planning meetings
  • Publish and communicate production schedules and updates to cross-functional teams
  • Partner with Production leadership to align execution with planning priorities

Material Planning
  • Support material availability to support production schedules and project timelines
  • Monitor and manage material shortages, backlog, and critical components
  • Track and follow up on supplier commitments and delivery performance
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to expedite materials and resolve supply issues
  • Coordinate material flow and readiness to the production floor

SAP, Data & Planning Execution
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of SAP planning data (production orders, lead times, MRP settings, master data)
  • Act as a key SAP user (PP/MM) for planning execution and data integrity
  • Generate and manage production and material planning reports
  • Utilize advanced Excel for data analysis, scenario planning, and reporting
  • Identify and resolve data inconsistencies impacting planning accuracy

Cross-Functional Coordination & Execution
  • Act as a central point of coordination between Production, Engineering, Procurement, and Supply Chain
  • Align engineering changes (ECOs) with material readiness and production schedules
  • Communicate risks, constraints, and recovery plans clearly to stakeholders
  • Support decision-making with Production and Supply Chain leadership
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives in planning processes
  • Contribute to standardization and optimization of planning practices

Required qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in production planning, material planning, or supply planning
  • Strong experience in Engineer-to-Order (ETO) or project-based manufacturing
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP (PP/MM required)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (mandatory)
  • Solid understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning. material requirements planning (MRP) and inventory management principles.
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional planning environments
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Fluent in English

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in power electronics, industrial equipment, or complex electromechanical manufacturing
  • Experience with long lead-time suppliers and global supply chains
  • Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • APICS (CPIM) or similar
  • Experience supporting process improvement or digitalization initiatives
