Job description

First Shift Production Operator Summary: The first shift production operator is responsible for operating Production equipment on the production lines and follow safety rules and quality procedures. The production operator will handle and monitor manufacturing machines and equipment, ensuring that all mechanisms runs smoothly and on time. Production operator will assist with assembling, processing, packaging products on a production line, perform quality checks and minor repairs as needed. Production Operator will report to Production Supervisor and Production line leaders. The position is based at Pompeian HQ. at 4201 Pulaski Highway Baltimore, MD 21224.
First Shift Production Operator Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • High school diploma
  • Hours: 5:15am - 3:45pm. with availability on the weekends and ability to work overtime with varying days of the week
  • Ability to troubleshoot machinery
  • Ability to follow written procedure
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Operators are required to have viable transportation
  • Able to lift between 25-50 lbs on occasion
  • Able to stand for long periods of time, bending and stretching
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) at all times
  • Ensure Production is in compliance with all environmental and sustainable goals and practices
  • Forklift experience a plus but not required
  • Must have predictable and strong attendance
  • Must have a motivated can-do attitude with the eagerness to learn new tasks within the Production department

First Shift Production Operator Responsibilities:
  • Follow GMPs in the Production area and immediately report any nonconformance GMP concerns to your supervisor
  • Follow all food and safety rules
  • Monitor product quality and inform QC of any deviations from the standard
  • Operate assigned equipment such as packer or labeler
  • Assist in troubleshooting of the machines when they are not running properly
  • Focus on minimizing waste of raw material, boxes, bottles, and finished product
  • Perform housekeeping within Production workspace
  • Ensure all work meets company environmental goals
  • Performs duties per Pompeian's mission, goals and core values
  • All other duties and tasks assigned
