Senior Production Operator
Electronics Assembly | Component Prep
Bloomington, MN
Pay Estimated: $18.90 - $23.90/Hour

We are hiring a Senior Production Operator specializing in electronics assembly, component preparation, and manufacturing production operations. This role supports the assembly, inspection, testing, soldering, wiring, cable harnessing, and preparation of electronic and mechanical components, including tinning, trimming, forming, connector population, subassembly integration, and final hardware assembly.
The Senior Manufacturing / Production Operator works with electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, including modules, circuit boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables. Candidates should have experience interpreting basic schematics and drawings, following Bills of Material (BOM) and work instructions, using measuring equipment, performing basic electrical testing, and completing rework or refurbishment in accordance with established quality and inspection requirements.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform component preparation activities including tinning, trimming, forming, connector population, and other processes required to prepare components for assembly.
  • Perform repetitive and non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Assemble modules, circuit boards, panels, drawers, frames, cables, and related hardware.
  • Read and interpret basic schematics, drawings, work instructions, Bills of Material (BOM), and manufacturing documentation.
  • Follow established methods, techniques, and sequences of operations for wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing.
  • Integrate subassemblies into final hardware and complete final assembly of small systems.
  • Perform basic electrical testing of assemblies, components, and completed hardware.
  • Complete inspection activities to verify polarity, workmanship, component placement, and compliance with applicable quality criteria.
  • Perform complex rework and refurbishment of electronic and mechanical hardware and systems.
  • Use measuring equipment and basic manufacturing math to verify component and assembly requirements.
  • Maintain accurate work order and production tracking information using applicable manufacturing management systems.
  • Maintain a clean and organized production work area in accordance with manufacturing and quality requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement activities related to manufacturing quality, productivity, and production processes.

Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant manufacturing, production assembly, electronics assembly, or related experience.
  • Knowledge of electronic component polarity and applicable inspection criteria.
  • Experience reading and working from Bills of Material (BOM), basic schematics, drawings, and manufacturing instructions.
  • Experience with component preparation processes such as tinning, trimming, forming, and connector population.
  • Experience with electronic and/or mechanical assembly operations.
  • Experience with wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing.
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment and basic manufacturing mathematics.
  • Experience using applicable work order tracking or manufacturing management systems.
  • Ability to perform basic electrical testing, inspection, rework, and refurbishment of hardware and assemblies.
