We are looking for a motivated, technical manager who can bring a broad understanding of GPU technologies to help define and deliver the next generation of Metal..
As the manager of the Production Metal Frameworks team, you will own the design and implementation of the Metal API to unlock the full potential of Apple Silicon for developers. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with software teams both inside and outside of Apple to bring incredible new GPU experiences to life across Apple's platforms.
Hands-on experience with GPU APIs (Metal, DirectX, Vulkan, CUDA, etc)Solid foundation in systems engineering including OS fundamentals and performance analysisPrior experience as a manager or tech lead driving large engineering projects through definition, planning, and execution phasesDemonstrated software design, debugging, and performance analysis abilities Strong programming skills with C/C++/Objective-CBS/MS/PhD or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
Multiple years of experience directly managing engineering teamsWide knowledge of graphics/compute API's including their differences and how they have evolved Detailed knowledge of a GPU architecture including their capabilities and performance characteristicsFamiliarity machine learning fundamentals and ML frameworks as well as how they are accelerated by modern HWFamiliarity with Apple framework and API design patterns as well as Swift programmingTop notch communication skills with the ability to influence up, down, and cross-functionally
