Job description

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of all production activities and staff. The Production Supervisor will motivate and encourage production members to achieve and maintain maximum production levels. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the safety and welfare of all employees, process efficiency, the quality and quantity of all products produced, cost control and effective communication with his or her superiors, peers, and direct reports, and address maintenance issues. This position will oversee and assist with the daily Plant operations including Continuous Improvement activities. This position will work in 12 hour rotating shifts in a 24/7 operation activities.

What you will do:

  • Coaching- Must be highly engaged with an exceptional hands on ability.  Must be able to identify and maximize coaching opportunities to promote continual growth and development within your Production team.
  • Safety-  Promotes, adheres to, and contributes to plant safety programs and ensures compliance with Standard Safety Operating Procedures - SSOP's
  • Quality- Driving force behind quality improvements in waste reduction and elimination, auditing finished goods, preparing finished product for move to warehouse, and regularly identifying and addressing opportunity for Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Production – Maintain work flow by monitoring process, setting process variables, observe control points and equipment, communicate clear job expectations, schedule and assign personnel, establish priorities, and report results on shift production summaries.
  • Personnel - Manages daily task delegation, develop programs for production with associated training and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to maximize member learning, productivity, and advancement of skill level and knowledge.  Ensure every member is trained in applying the Company’s quality standards and safety policies and practices, performance/behavior evaluations, disciplinary issues, and approve payroll for all production operators.
  • Engineering- Work closely with Facility Engineering and Maintenance to identify potential problems, streamline processes, and implement improvement suggestions and activities.

What You Will Need:

  • Three to five years' experience in OSB manufacturing or within the wood products industry
  • Solid understanding of all processes related to production and manufacturing in general
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Proactive and enthusiastic with demonstrated collaborative leadership skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong teams
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skill
  • Results-driven.
  • Proven ability to initiate and foster cooperation within and between departments.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers is required.
