Job description

Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. RGI, established in 1908, has the distinction of being recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States. 

Rogers Group is currently seeking a Plant Manager for one of our aggregate's operations located in Oak Ridge, TN. The position reports to the Area Production Manager. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Supervising quarry/mine employees and plant operations in a limestone surface mine.
  • Overseeing proper implementation of safety procedures.
  • Control costs to meet budgets and reduce costs to achieve savings.
  • Identify deficiencies and implement a plan for continuous improvement.
  • Effectively manage staff by setting clear performance objectives, providing regular feedback, and providing development through training.
  • Ensure compliance with all Company and Government policies and regulations.
  • Direct mine and pit planning.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Ensure processes for quality product production and collaborate with area QC department.
  • Actively reaching out and being involved in the local community.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, geological engineering or similar is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quarry operations.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Working knowledge of profit and loss statements and basic accounting principles.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to develop leadership at the lead person and foreman levels.
  • Demonstrated ability in identifying, communicating, and implementing best operating practices, including quality, maintenance, production, and safety excellence.
  • Proven safety record and excellent compliance in MSHA safety standards.
  • Possess strong basic math knowledge.
  • Basic surveying and mapping skills are required.
  • Working knowledge of environmental policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Working knowledge of AggQC and AggFlow is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office.
