Production Supervisor
ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize, a leading supplier of high-quality construction materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Production Supervisor to support operations within our Asphalt product line. The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations across multiple asphalt plant locations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production while supporting plant personnel, equipment performance, and operational goals. This is a floating role that requires regular travel between asphalt plants in Prince George's County, Charles County, and Anne Arundel County to provide leadership, maintain operational consistency, and support staffing and production needs.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Supervise daily asphalt plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and timely production.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate production schedules to meet customer and project requirements.
  • Travel between asphalt plant locations throughout Prince George's County, Charles County, and Anne Arundel County to provide operational leadership, ensure standardized production practices, and support staffing needs.
  • Collaborate with Plant Managers across multiple facilities to maintain consistent safety, quality, production, and maintenance standards while assisting with special projects and operational improvements.
  • Lead, train, and mentor plant operators and production personnel.
  • Ensure all asphalt mixes meet quality control specifications and customer standards.Monitor plant equipment performance and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Enforce compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety policies.
  • Track production output, inventory levels, and material usage to optimize plant efficiency.
  • Investigate production delays, equipment issues, and quality concerns, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate production reports, shift logs, inventory records, and operational documentation.
  • Coordinate with dispatch, quality control, maintenance, and paving crews to ensure seamless operations.
  • Monitor labor productivity, equipment utilization, and operating costs to achieve production goals.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, workplace inspections, and employee performance evaluations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall plant performance
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE 'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Required Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in asphalt plant operations, manufacturing, or construction materials production.
  • Travel Requirements: 25- 50%
  • Thorough knowledge of asphalt plant equipment, production processes, quality control, and material handling.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and workplace safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret production schedules, technical manuals, and operational reports.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and production reporting systems; experience with plant automation systems is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and production issues while making sound operational decisions under pressure.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to travel between asphalt plant locations in Prince George's County, Charles County, and Anne Arundel County as needed.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, overtime, and on-call shifts during the paving season.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including exposure to heat, dust, noise, and moving equipment.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, operational excellence, and continuous improvement while supporting multiple plant locations..
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment

Additional Requirements:
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
