ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of this position is to coordinate plant manufacturing processes which include Production, Maintenance, and Quality Control in accordance with company objectives. Use Strategy Deployment and systematic continuous improvement techniques to drive better Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. Build and maintain a more effective team through intentional teammate engagement and capability building. Collaborate with internal departments and corporate resources to help run the business as member of the site leadership team.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
Leadership
  • Build a culture consistent with the Amrize philosophy of safety first, always. Actively support safety initiatives including safety observations, safety audits, 5S, risk assessment, as well as near miss and incident investigation and remediation.
  • Direct the Production team in the preparation and implementation of operating plans and strategies consistent with the business plan. The Production Team consists of Production Supervisors and indirect hourly Production teammates.
  • Plan the use of facilities, equipment, and personnel to meet current and future production requirements including department budgets and guidelines, plant layout and improvement, and capital and expenditure programs.
  • Manage the Production departments with the appropriate communications of goals, performance feedback, corrective actions, rewards, and recognition to provide optimum teammate relations.
  • Mentor supervisors and department leads to maximize capabilities in leadership, operations, and continuous improvement. Conduct training and career path planning for all teammates.

Continuous Improvement
  • Learn, teach, and drive LEAN Manufacturing using the Amrize Strategy Deployment framework and daily coaching in Gemba.
  • Use Visual Management to make problems obvious, identify actionable root causes, and develop corresponding action plans to reach desired operational performance.
  • Set and achieve manufacturing cost reduction targets.
  • Understand and employ appropriate tools: 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, SMED, Autonomous Maintenance, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, etc.
  • Propose and justify capital improvements to reduce material and labor requirements.

Customer Focus
  • Provide, implement, and administer quality assurance and engineering control functions to ensure product reliability and conformance to customer specifications in the most effective and economical manner possible.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute a manufacturing plan to achieve the highest possible service level
  • Proactively communicate to internal stakeholders' potential risks and actual deviations to planned schedules
  • Enhance consistency and reliability of processes through working standard development, routine auditing, and effective teammate training

Financial Management
  • Establish and meet annual expense budget for production operations
  • Identify causes of material, labor, and overhead manufacturing variances and minimize them.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Management
Required Work Experience: 4-7 Years Manufacturing experience in a mid-level leadership role, 7-10 years broad manufacturing experience
  • Lean manufacturing/Six Sigma certificate and/or 3 years CI experience preferred

Additional Requirements:
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
