  • Responsible for the division's business direction and results, responsible for planning, evaluating, integrating, and managing a multi functional, complex support organization.
  • Plans allocation of resources and distribution of work to assure depot logistics missions are accomplished as scheduled.
  • Maintains liaison with senior officials, providing workload updates and ensuring effective production operations, while coordinating alignment of all support efforts.
  • Provides technical and administrative guidance to subordinates related to meeting depot overhaul requirements for major maintenance programs.
  • Assures that subordinate supervisors carry out policies to achieve management objectives in such areas as labor-management relations and equal employment opportunity.

  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion not to exceed (NTE) 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
  • Time Limited Detail NTE may be made permanent or extended at management discretion.
  • Must successfully complete the Civilian Education System Course and the Supervisory Development Course within 12 months of being assigned to the position. Failure to do so may result in an adverse action.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Assisting with long-range planning on all phases of production operations; (2) Conducting analysis and/or review of existing processes to eliminate inefficiencies and/or increase effectiveness and efficiency; (3) Reviewing regulations, instructions, and procedures to determine impact procedures have on production operation and mission requirements of maintenance operations; and (4) Overseeing, managing, developing, or implementing Logistics operations within an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
