Job Purpose:
A Production Manager oversees a company’s production processes to ensure they stay within budget and enhance efficiencies. They’re responsible for consistently finding ways to improve an organization’s production processes and structures. Production Managers will consistently review employees and their equipment items to determine where to make enhancements.
They’ll work closely with team members to build strategies to maximize their performances. Production Managers will also collaborate with other departments and team members to set goals for the production team. They’re in charge of scheduling routine maintenance to keep the equipment running effectively and maintaining quality standards.Key Responsibilities:
• Planning and organizing production schedules
• Assessing project and resource requirements
• Estimating, negotiating, and agreeing budgets and timescales with clients and managers
• Determining quality control standards
• Overseeing production processes
• Motivating, supporting, and providing guidance to production staff
• Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep an organization accident-free
• Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production
• Evaluating machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime
• Establishing a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations
• Setting productivity goals for each production team
• Developing workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality
• Ensuring adequate scheduling of staff
• Works with the Safety Manager to maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with company and legal regulations.
• Assist in ensuring that all teams and Team Members are utilizing the EOS model, are involved in a weekly meeting, quarterly check-in and have a “number”.
• Celebrates wins with the team and encourages and recognizes those that successfully fulfill their duties and demonstrate the FreshOne Core Values.
Core Skills/Background:• Leadership (including Integrity/Ethics, Attitude)
• Competent and comfortable with WMS systems, email and Microsoft Excel, and Word.
• Organized, analytical thinker with strong good oral and written communication skills.
• Able to juggle multiple tasks at once and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Excellent leadership skills. Able to be a leader and not just a “doer”.
• Well-mannered, professional.
• Knowledge of codes, FDA laws, regulations, especially Food Safety, OSHA and Health & Safety.
• Proven experience in driving continuous improvements to build a fun, delighted and engaging culture.
• Experienced in food industry warehousing (SQF certified is a plus) including cold and refrigerated environments.
• Flexibility to work in fast-paced environment, ability to set priorities with variable working hours (we operate 24/7)
