Department: Marketing
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Remote - USA
Reporting To: Director of Marketing Events and Media
Compensation: $75,000 - $95,000 / year
Description
The Media Production Manager will serve as the operational lead for Summit K12's video and media production initiatives, owning the coordination and execution of projects from pre-production through final delivery. This role is responsible for transforming creative vision into actionable production plans while ensuring timelines, logistics, contractors, deliverables, and workflows are executed successfully with minimal oversight.
Reporting to the Media and Events Director, this individual will act as a strategic production partner and project owner across filming logistics, conference media production, customer deliverables, and Summit K12 marketing content. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, collaborative, and experienced in managing complex production workflows in fast-paced environments.
This role is not the primary editor or videographer, but rather the operational owner responsible for managing production expectations, coordinating creative resources, and ensuring high-quality execution across all stages of production.
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Production Ownership
  • Own and manage video production projects from pre-production through post-production and final delivery
  • Translate high-level creative direction into detailed production plans, workflows, timelines, and deliverables
  • Ensure projects remain organized, on schedule, and aligned with creative expectations and business goals
  • Independently drive execution with minimal day-to-day oversight

2. Production Planning & Workflow Management
  • Build and manage project plans within Asana or similar project management systems
  • Coordinate production schedules, timelines, shot planning, logistics, and deliverables
  • Track progress across all active productions and proactively identify risks or delays
  • Ensure clear communication and alignment between leadership, contractors, editors, and production teams

3. Media Production & Filming Logistics
  • Coordinate onsite and remote filming logistics for conferences, customer shoots, podcasts, media lounges, interviews, and marketing projects
  • Support production execution by ensuring crews, contractors, equipment, schedules, and production needs are fully coordinated
  • Serve as a production partner to the Media and Events Director during productions and events
  • Make informed operational decisions related to production logistics, staffing, scheduling, and execution

4. Contractor & Vendor Management
  • Identify, coordinate, and manage videographers, editors, production contractors, and external vendors
  • Oversee contractor timelines, deliverables, and quality expectations
  • Manage production budgets, contractor costs, and logistical planning associated with media projects
  • Ensure all external partners execute work aligned to Summit K12 brand and production standards

5. Post-Production Oversight
  • Manage post-production workflows and final asset delivery
  • Oversee editors and editing contractors to ensure timely, high-quality completion of marketing videos and customer deliverables
  • Coordinate review cycles, revisions, approvals, and final distribution
  • Ensure production assets and files are organized, archived, and maintained appropriately

6. Marketing & Brand Content Support
  • Support the expansion of Summit K12's marketing video and storytelling capabilities
  • Coordinate the production of customer success stories, promotional videos, event recap videos, and other strategic marketing content
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Events, and Leadership teams to bring concepts to life through media production

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. 3-5+ years of experience in production management, creative operations, media production coordination, or similar project management-focused production role
  2. Proven experience managing production workflows from concept through delivery
  3. Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
  4. Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, editors, and production teams
  5. Ability to independently execute projects with minimal oversight and strong attention to detail
  6. Strong communication and collaboration skills in fast-paced environments
  7. Experience managing timelines, logistics, budgets, and production schedules
  8. Proficiency with Asana or similar project management software
  9. Willingness to travel to conferences, productions, and events as needed

ADVANCED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Experience working in agency, media production, marketing production, or high-output content environments
  2. Familiarity with video production processes including filming, editing workflows, lighting, audio, and post-production timelines
  3. Experience supporting conference/event-based media production
  4. Understanding of production budgeting and contractor management
  5. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud workflows, including Premiere Pro and After Effects
  6. Experience supporting marketing, branded content, or customer storytelling initiatives
  7. Ability to balance creative vision with operational execution and delivery

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This role requires the physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy video equipment (cameras, lighting kits, and cases) during field production and event setup.
Must be willing to travel:
Travel is required and considered an essential function of the job. Travel includes overnight stays at hotels and transportation via car, plane, and/or public transportation. Driving in small and large cities is required. All travel-related expenses are initially paid in advance by the employee (eg, lodging, daily meals).
