What You Will Do
Perform mold changes on injection molding presses ranging from 85 to 2800 tons
Process molds to achieve the highest quality molded products
Lead and support molding operators during daily production
Plan and coordinate molding production schedules
Schedule machines and operators to maintain efficient workflow
Assist with material handling, resin mixtures, and regrind operations
Create and maintain mold setup sheets and inspection documentation
Perform first article inspections and final product quality checks
Assist with scrap reduction and process improvements
Operate forklift and assist with shop operations as needed
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized production environment
Communicate production status and operational needs to management and the next shift

3 or more years of experience in injection molding operations

Position Summary
The Injection Molding Technician/Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily injection molding production while performing technical mold setup, processing, and troubleshooting. This position leads molding operators, coordinates machine scheduling, and ensures molded products meet quality and production standards.
This role serves as the primary liaison between production leadership and the molding team to maintain efficient machine utilization, minimize scrap, and ensure safe, consistent manufacturing operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
โ€ข Perform mold changes on 85-2800 ton injection molding presses.
โ€ข Process molds to achieve the highest quality molded products.
โ€ข Monitor molding processes and recommend adjustments to improve efficiency and product quality.
โ€ข Plan and coordinate production schedules for molding operations.
โ€ข Schedule and coordinate molding operators to meet production requirements.
โ€ข Work with production leadership to schedule machines for optimal workflow and efficiency.
โ€ข Supervise and assist with material handling and material mixture preparation.
โ€ข Oversee packaging of molded products to ensure quality and accuracy.
โ€ข Create setup sheets for new tooling and revise setup sheets for existing molds.
โ€ข Develop inspection sheets when documentation is unavailable.
โ€ข Perform first article inspections and final product inspections.
โ€ข Assist with scrap reduction, waste management, and regrind operations.
โ€ข Operate forklifts and other shop equipment as needed.
โ€ข Maintain a clean, organized work environment in accordance with safety and 5S standards.
โ€ข Communicate production status, issues, and operational needs to leadership and the next shift.
โ€ข Identify opportunities to improve workflow, quality, safety, and overall production efficiency.
โ€ข Ensure compliance with all company safety procedures, including PPE requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
3+ years of experience in injection molding operations.
Experience performing mold changes and process adjustments. Demonstrated ability to operate and troubleshoot injection molding machines.
