Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Machine Operator is responsible for assisting in the operation of automated and semi-automated machines to produce customized flexible packaging products. The role involves interpreting work orders, maintaining accurate product counts, and supporting various stages of production. Machine Operators are expected to uphold quality and safety standards, contribute to production goals, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.

SHIFT:

  • Monday - Thursday 5:30am - 4:00pm

SUPERVISES:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Read and interpret work orders and machine diagrams to understand product specifications and manufacturing procedures.

  • Assist Machine Operators with:

    • Retrieving supplies and materials for production.

    • Machine setup and changeover procedures.

    • Quality control, including conducting visual quality checks and inspections.

    • Picking, packing, labeling, and moving finished products to staging areas.

    • Cleaning and performing limited maintenance on equipment.

    • Completing production records, including logs of materials used and items produced.

  • Package and label products accurately while maintaining work center production quotas.

  • Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.

ADDITIONAL RESPONIBILITIES:

  • Support other production activities as assigned.

  • Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and maintain quality standards.

  • Participate in training and career development programs offered by the company.

EDUCATION amp; EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

  • Knowledge of flexible packaging and basic tools preferred.
