Loader Operator

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Loader Operator to join our team at SRM Concrete. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating front-end loaders and other heavy equipment to move materials around the plant efficiently and safely. This role is crucial in ensuring that production processes run smoothly and effectively, contributing to the overall success of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate front-end loaders and other heavy machinery to transport raw materials, including sand, gravel, and cement, to the mixing plant.
  • Load and unload materials from trucks and into hoppers, bins, or conveyors as required.
  • Coordinate with the production team to supply materials according to the production schedule.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure operational safety and efficiency. Report any malfunctions or needed repairs to the maintenance team promptly.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including wearing proper safety equipment, to minimize the risk of injury and accidents on site.
  • Keep the working area clean and organized to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist with inventory counts and ensure that material supplies are adequate for production needs.
  • Work closely with plant management to identify operational improvements and implement best practices.
  • Be willing to assist other team members and departments as needed, including performing manual labor tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Loader Operator or in a similar role operating heavy machinery, preferably in a concrete plant or similar industrial setting.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations in industrial or construction environments.
  • Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in heavy machinery operation is a plus.
  • Willingness to undergo SRM's pre-employment screenings.
