Job description

Are you ready to lead, motivate, and make a real impact on the production floor? Join our team as a Production Supervisor and be the driving force behind high-performing teams and exceptional results! We are recruiting candidates for 1st and 2nd shift roles.

Production Line Supervisor:

This role is accountable to Operations Manager for Safety, Quality, and Production for the production line(s) as assigned. The primary focus of the position is to assume ownership of the production line to provide the desired production rate, quality, and a safe and desirable working environment.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote safety first culture that fosters an injury free workplace ensuring all team members wear protective gear during production.
  • Promote a positive & productive team environment- IKI Core.
  • Provide employee training to ensure that employees perform job responsibilities effectively.
  • Devise strategies that would help to reduce production costs without compromising the standard of finished goods.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving production related issues.
  • Responsible for monitoring, tracking, and minimizing waste in the plant.
  • Responsible for continuous improvements assignments.
  • Inspect work done by team members to ensure that they meet company standards of good quality. Including oversight of quality specific tasks as required by IKI and IKI customers.
  • Visually inspect the product for quality, including but not limited to, the product label, appearance, correct components (cap) and cleanliness, etc.
  • Inspect products to verify that all products are produced within specifications using the predetermined quality parameters.
  • Responsible for OEE tracker at the end of shift and its accuracy to include good details with next step resolutions when necessary.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of all production documents.
  • Responsible for ensuring all finished work orders are closed, have proper signoffs, and have correct numbers reported.
  • Ensure good housekeeping throughout shift, initiating and following CIP practices.
  • Communicate effectively to all cross-functional teams related to production issues or successes.
  • Focus on maintaining scheduling requirements, communicating issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring the schedule for any changes that may need to be made and for contacting management with what your plan is going forward.
  • Coordinate activities between shifts and ensure timely startups and shutdowns of the production processes.
  • Main point of contact with R&D for trials, all trial preparation, communications to management and crews, and post-trial follow ups.

  • Good decision-making skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible to the requirements of the schedule and personnel.
  • Be able to work in a machine-controlled environment, and therefore, be able to operate, troubleshoot and perform small repairs on machines.
  • Exhibit strength and stamina to withstand hours of working, lifting, walking, and standing.
  • Showcase good leadership and motivation skills to lead different people with different abilities and character traits.
  • Expected to know how to communicate efficiently both in oral and written forms.
  • Email experience and computer systems experience required.
  • Work within software systems like SAP, LYNQ, Litmos, and Microsoft.
  • Must be a swift learner and an excellent coach to train their team.
  • Will be expected to have excellent problem-solving skills to effectively handle the challenges and problems in the production department.
  • Must know how to delegate tasks to other members of the team.
  • Must be able to understand the importance of time management and always be proactive. Tasks are assigned daily and required to be completed by the end of the shift before leaving for the day.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds infrequently.
  • Stamina to walking, standing, climb stairs throughout the shift to accomplish tasks.
  • Ability to support production physically when necessary.

Education:

  • High School Diploma
  • Some College Preferred
  • Computer and Software Skills
  • Bilingual is not necessary, but helpful

Experience

  • 5+ years supervisor experience preferred
