Position Overview

The Production Line Scheduler is responsible for ensuring optimal balance between customer satisfaction and manufacturing efficiency. This role coordinates with the Planning and Logistics department and production teams to ensure timely delivery of products while maximizing cost-effectiveness and capacity utilization.

Key Responsibilities

Production Scheduling

  • Create and manage production schedules to meet customer delivery expectations.
  • Ensure material availability for seamless production flow.

Customer Service Enhancement

  • Foster superior customer service as a competitive advantage.

Order Management

  • Collaborate with Planning and Logistics to prioritize and schedule value-added orders.
  • Act as a quality gatekeeper to minimize order entry errors.

Process Optimization

  • Partner with production teams to identify opportunities to improve line throughput.

Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor and adjust schedules to adapt to operational changes or unforeseen challenges.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Productivity: Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and yield to meet targets.
  • Customer Delivery: Achieve delivery performance goals with a focus on timeliness.
  • Order Accuracy: Ensure zero order errors through meticulous scheduling and verification.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Basic computer competency.

Preferred:

  • College degree.
  • 5+ years of experience with coil coating, galvanizing, or slitting lines.
  • Familiarity with Steelscape products and SAP (3+ years preferred).

  • Proficiency in scheduling tools and systems (MES, SAP, forecasting tools).

Working Conditions

  • Minimal travel with occasional overnight or international trips.

Salary Range: This position's estimated annual base salary is $63,858.00 - $95,786.00. Actual base salary will be dependent on an individual's skills, qualifications, and experience. This role is eligible for 401k Savings plan, Healthcare (medical, dental and vision), and other generous rewards.
