Purpose of Position:


Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable produce. Del Monte Foods has a powerful portfolio of brands, including the iconic Del Monte, Contadina and S&W. We are currently seeking an Inventory Control Supervisor.


The Inventory Control Supervisor position is responsible for the management and safeguarding of $200M+ of Del Monte Finished Goods Inventory, Brite Inventory, Materials and Fiber Inventory for Plant and DC Operations in Rochelle, IL. This oversight includes managing the cycle count process (and auditors) as well as investigating any inventory discrepancies and resolving quickly. This position provides the appropriate level of support, training, system maintenance and communication to maximize service levels.


Responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools - leads the investigation of inventory discrepancies and drives root cause analysis with operation partners. Directs the work with the Plant and DC to implement corrective action.
  • Drives accountability of inventory processes and procedures in both the Plant and DC operations.
  • Directs the cycle count programs, physical inventory and guides improvements to these programs.
  • Ensures inventory reconciliation between WMS and SAP to comply with Sarbane's Oxley (SOX) standards.
  • Collaborates with Inventory Control Manager to build and maintain Inventory Scorecard for Rochelle Operations.
  • Collaborates with Inventory Accounting to ensure proper resolution of balancing inventory general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure that all inventory, receipt and shipment transactions post on a timely basis and audit them for accuracy.
  • Monitor customer returns to proactively identify issues to reduce costs and errors. Audit all credit and debit memos associated with these returns for accuracy.
  • Provide daily direction, performance evaluations and development for bay auditors
  • Other duties as assigned.


Accountabilities:

  • Develop and Deploy Standard work to improve inventory accuracy and effectiveness of our inventory control team in Rochelle.
  • Directs the cycle count programs, physical inventory and guides improvements to these programs.
  • Leads the investigation of inventory discrepancies and drives root cause analysis with operation partners. Directs the work with the Plant and DC to implement corrective action.

Minimum Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, operations, accounting, business, or related area (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 1-2 years of Inventory Control experience or relevant Supply Chain experience.
  • Ability to analyze data and possess acute attention to detail.
  • Interpret information and arrive at a logical conclusion or recommendation.
  • Detailed planning, analytical skills and customer service priority.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound judgment under stressful situations.
  • Self-motivated with proactive response to new challenges.
  • Knowledge of SAP and tier-1 WMS.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft tools
  • Proven ability to lead and implement change and improvements in inventory processes.
  • Ability to anticipate potential problems and initiate proactive actions.
  • Experience within a food manufacturing setting strongly preferred.
