Summary
The Vehicle Inventory Control Analyst interacts with internal and external customers; providing support, data and pertinent information to ensure production runs efficiently.
Responsibilities
  • Must have a keen understanding of all VIN movement for Port Processing
    • Pulling and comparing records from Company software and third party software using Microsoft Excel, and Word
    • VELES, SAP, ACES, PDA etc
    • Sorting data into necessary reports as requested
    • Verifying the validity of data and updating as needed
    • Sending and receiving data as requested
    • Communicating VIN activity clearly and concisely via verbal communication and email transmission
    • Answering phones, replying to email in a timely fashion
    • Engage in face-to-face meetings with customers for the provision of one-to-one service
    • Assist Carriers locate units
    • Work Order Completion/Print/Reprint
    • Monroney Print/Reprint/Sort
    • Proactively investigating issues and responding accordingly
    • Day-to-day operation of all programs and equipment, including scanners. Setting/Troubleshooting PDA Scanners/Wi-Fi Hotspot
    • Must be proactive in handling all production related inquiries/issues in a timely manner
    • Creating, Printing and distribution of necessary/requested reports
    • VIN lists (various configurations)
    • Allocation/Decommit Report (VINS ready for production)
  • Allocated Not Tendered (Aging VINS)
    • Tendered Not Shipped (Processed VINS not shipped)
    • Additional reports created based on production needs/inquiry
    • Allocation/Decommit Report (VINS ready for production)
    • Offsite Truck Shuttling (VINS located off the main property)
    • Availability Reports (VINS available to process)
    • Ramp Operation in Navy Yard
    • Retrieve railcar numbers with corresponding A-end and B-end seals
    • Enter railcar numbers into TADS system according to railcar location on each track and pad
    • Assign location to all VIN's on each rail car and print bay tickets
  • Investigate problematic VIN's, damages, and the relocation of VIN's from their assigned location to sickbay area and/or Southport VPC
    • Park VIN's for carrier availability and clear track sheet in TADS
    • Submit a minimum of 10 reports daily to Glovis HQ and NS Corp
    • Perform physical inventory and system reconciliation in TADS weekly and monthly
    • Other duties as assigned

  • 5 Years OR Equivalent Combination of Education and Experience in Customer Service, and/or Analytical Skills Preferred
