Description
Fleet Engineers in Muskegon, Michigan currently seeks a Production Planner.

Position Summary
The Production Planner is responsible for ensuring efficient coordination of materials, inventory, and production schedules to support operational goals and deadlines. The Production Planner will not only identify these constraints but also collaborate with other departments to resolve or overcome these issues while coordinating communication through customer service to the customer.
Essential Job Functions
• Plans, schedules, and determines priorities of job orders using MRP system.
• Determine realistic lead times and communicate to Customer Service.
• Works closely with department Leads to resolve labor and material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions.
• Monitor subcontract job orders to ensure job due dates are met.
• Research inventory discrepancies and coordinate with the appropriate departments to resolve them.
• Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
• Manage inventory levels to minimize excess stock and reduce costs.
• Participate in daily production meeting.
• Assist in leading weekly Anticipated Shortage meeting.
• Work alongside Quality, Procurement and Shipping teams to align deliverables.
Requirements
• 2+ years working in a manufacturing, inventory control, or scheduling environment. Prior experience as a Production Planner in manufacturing preferred.
• General knowledge of MRP and manufacturing principles
• Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of employees
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure while adhering to deadlines.
