Job description

Job Summary:  

The Inventory Control Clerk shall be responsible for all aspects of inventory control, checking the inventory accuracy, the reduced inventory levels and reduced risk exposure and maintain overall compliance with Ferraro Foods’ policies and procedures.  Perform other duties as required by management.

The Inventory Control Clerk shall be accountable to, and supervised by Warehouse Management. 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Perform daily cycle counts daily, including the research and reconciliation of discrepancies, driver shorts, out of stocks, and randoms.
  • 100% utilization of our IDS/ERP system for all aspects of the job. Full implementation of radio frequency scanners.
  • Work co-operatively with the Inventory Control Manager by tracking and reporting inventory needs and communicating incoming material discrepancies. 
  • Notify purchasing and sales of near expiration and short dated product on a regular basis.
  • Receipt/Inventory Reconciliation.
  • Inventory discrepancies research.
  • Inventory adjustments.
  • Accuracy of receipt storage.
  • Knowledge and use of Powerhouse systems.
  • Check quality of produce. This entails identifying what split cases need to be created for next day shipping and seeing that those split cases are completed by the end of the day.
  • Manage storage.
  • Manage date sensitive checks in Retalix.
  • Daily count of core cheese items and protein items.
  • Locating new rack space for products
  • Prior Food Industry experience is a plus

Job Requirements

  • Must be analytical and detail oriented.
  • Extensive experience with Excel and spreadsheet management a must.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must possess minimum two years prior warehouse or related experience. 
  • Basic experience in MS Word and Excel and working knowledge of inventory control systems and processes. 
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Good writing skills.
  • Electric Pallet Jack
