Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in serving food to children or adults.
  • Stamina to stand and walk on hard floors for long periods of time and the ability to lift and carry objects weighing 50 pounds.

Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge Desired:
  • Works effectively with school personnel and students.
  • Knowledgeable on USDA and DPI guidelines and requirements.
  • Familiar with HACCP (Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Points) plan and each standard operating procedure for kitchen.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions and be able to perform math necessary for recipe conversion.
  • Apply and maintain high standards of sanitation and personal hygiene per Outagamie County health codes.
  • To assist in all phases of school food service to serve elementary and secondary school food service.

Responsibilities:
Food Service Duties
  • Assists in getting the service areas and kitchen ready for service times, assists in the service area and kitchen during meal service.
  • Sweeps, mops floors, washes work tables, walls of the refrigerators, and removes trash and garbage to designated areas. Scrapes food from dirty dishes, pots and pans and washes by hand and/or places in dishwasher machine. In addition, transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or uses cart.
  • Washes, sanitizes and stores dishes, tableware and kitchen equipment such as ranges, ovens, steamers, tilting kettles, skillets, mixers and choppers. This involves bending at the waist to a lower position in order to properly clean equipment.
  • Stores food and supplies in accordance with HAACP guidelines. This involves lifting above or below the waist to put selected items on shelving. These items can weigh as much as 50 pounds.
  • Receive cash from guests for purchases. Enter all accounts receivable. Reconcile cash register drawers to daily receivables report. Maintains proper security of cash at all times. Follows cash accountability and bank responsibility guidelines at all times.
  • If required, assist in completion of production records.
  • Attends classes or informational meetings as required.
  • Wears proper uniform/clothing at all times and in accordance with HACCP standards.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
