Job description

Summary: The Liaison Engineer works under the general direction of the Manager of Liaison Engineering, or designee, with a minimum of supervision and is responsible for the review and disposition of engineering/manufacturing discrepancies. The Liaison Engineer is assigned programs of intermediate technical and organizational scope, involving moderate risk for the company.
Roles amp; Responsibilities:

1.Review component and material discrepancies as defined by Quality Assurance.
2.Provides disposition of such after consultation with appropriate areas of expertise.
3.Maintains files on historical data as to the occurrence of discrepancies, repetition of discrepancies, degree of deviations accepted and/or reworked, and actions taken to correct recurring deficiencies.
4.Interfaces with Quality Assurance, Purchasing and Procurement, Production, and Manufacturing Engineering to correct deficiencies and minimize their reoccurrence.
5.Maintains liaison with supplies and/or vendors, ensuring that effective communication channels are open and that customer concerns are appropriately represented and addressed.
6.Provide clarity and appropriate recommendations, such as engineering order (EO), to ensure drawing improvements where existing drawing requirements are unclear or incorrect.
Qualifications

Candidates must possess a degree in engineering (BS), or higher, preferably in Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, or Materials and one (1) year of related experience.
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and the use of 3D modeling software (CTIA, UG NX).
Prior MRB (Material Review Board) experience/authority a plus or must be able to receive MRB authority.
Fluent oral and written communication skills and effective use of a personal computer including related to word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Familiarity with AutoQuality software a plus.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and cross functionally with other units such as manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, purchasing and quality assurance.
Effective project management skills and ability to work independently toward results including meeting tight timeframes and deadlines.
