Manager - Production - Die Casting - MOR

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Provide leadership to manufacturing department consisting of group leaders, team leaders and technicians.
  • Develop an annual operating plan for department to support company operating planning cycle.
  • Plan capital and expense budget requirements.
  • Be accountable to operating plan and financial commitments.
  • Lead improvement activities for quality, delivery, cost and safety objectives.
  • Identify training and development needs for department team members.
  • Support continuous improvement through Kaizen and leading positive change.
  • Support company policy and administer fairly and consistently.
  • Facilitate good communications with leaders and team members for establishing expectations and problem resolution.
  • Maintain efficiency through lean manufacturing principles, human resource planning, and flexibility.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position is responsible for supervising department employees in accordance with policies and procedures.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Supervisory knowledge in a manufacturing environment.
  • General understanding of highly sophisticated equipment and software.
  • General understanding of mechanical blueprints and electrical diagrams.
  • Understanding of quality assurance system.

  • Supervisory experience for 3 years or more preferred.

  • Travel by automobile and plane required approximately 10-20% of time.
