Production Control Specialist

Total Site Solutions (TSS), Georgetown, TX., seeks a results-driven Production Control Specialist to oversee and coordinate our daily production activities to ensure all production activities run efficiently and smoothly from planning to completion. They will also be responsible for collecting and maintaining accurate records of production output and performance. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a production environment and will be able to work independently with little supervision.

Key responsibilities

  • Vetting and tracking production schedules and making sure that daily Production Goals are met by communicating to management along with communicating timely schedule changes to the Production and Project Management teams. This position will require resolving and/or escalating issues that prevent job progress
  • Scheduling and coordinating flow-of-work within Production as well as between other departments in the Manufacturing plant to arrange and implement expedited production orders. This would entail scheduling within our ERP system
  • Reviewing master Production schedule work orders and establishing priorities for specific customer orders and revising schedule according to work order specifications. Establishing work order priorities by confirming capability of staff/workers, parts, consigned and non-consigned, materials, machines, and equipment. Conveying realistic dates based on the above to the customer
  • Coordinating Production work hours with management to ensure that production needs are met efficiently and effectively
  • Ensuring that all materials needed to support the Production process are available on time
  • Conferring with department supervisors to define progress-of-work
  • Compiling reports related to progress-of-work and any downtime

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply chain, or in a related field
  • Three to five years of experience in Production Control in a fast-paced, high complexity, non-mass producing manufacturing environment
  • Skills such as Data mining, reporting, and presenting to management in a presentation format
  • Ability to effectively lead a Productive meeting as well as create and distribute meeting minutes
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, including written and verbal skills for internal and external contacts
  • Demonstrated capability of systematic problem solving
  • Strong understanding of warehousing and inventory control
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Basic mathematics and statistical skills
  • Capable of demonstrating the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and workload, dealing with high complexity and ambiguity often
  • Experienced in collaborating between Operations and Planning departments
  • Strong computer knowledge including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and NetSuite
