Job Title: Production Control Specialist
2nd shift Mon - Friday with 2 saturdays out the month potentially due to production
Job Description
This role supports manufacturing and production operations by coordinating closely with production, supply chain, and inventory teams to ensure materials and work orders flow efficiently through the plant. You will use ERP and MRP systems to plan, schedule, and track production activities, while developing reports and improving processes to meet internal and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with manufacturing, production, supply chain, and inventory teams to ensure smooth and efficient production control.
- Work closely with production managers to ensure all metrics-driven action items are completed accurately and on time.
- Develop, maintain, and distribute reports that highlight production needs, deliverables, constraints, and status for both internal stakeholders and customers.
- Support internal logistics processes by designing and implementing innovative staging and workflow practices.
- Manage work orders for assigned production cells, including creation, release, tracking, and closure as required.
- Monitor and track part movements throughout the production flow to ensure timely delivery to the next step in the value chain.
- Coordinate with inventory control and logistics to maintain accurate material levels and support production schedules.
- Assist with planning and scheduling activities, including production planning, material planning, and sequencing of work orders.
- Support cycle counts and other inventory control activities to ensure data accuracy within ERP/MRP systems.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within production control, logistics, and material handling, and help implement enhanced procedures.
- Use ERP, MRP, and MES systems (such as NetSuite or Oracle) to manage production data, work orders, and material transactions.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve issues related to material availability, production delays, and workflow bottlenecks.
- Apply strong interpersonal and soft skills to lead and influence process improvements across production and logistics operations.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing, shipping, or logistics environment.
- Hands-on experience with MRP, ERP, and MES systems, including NetSuite, Oracle, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong knowledge of production control, planning, scheduling, and material planning practices.
- Experience in inventory control, including cycle counts and material handling.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite for reporting, analysis, and communication.
- Ability to monitor and manage part movements and work orders through the production flow.
- Strong soft skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and improve processes.
- Demonstrated ability to support logistics and internal material flow in a manufacturing environment.
- ERP experience in a production, supply chain, or inventory control context.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with NetSuite, Oracle, or similar ERP systems in a production environment.
- Familiarity with MRP and MES tools used for planning and shop floor control.
- Exposure to APICS principles and best practices in production and inventory management.
- Process improvement within manufacturing, logistics, or inventory operations.
- Experience with planning and scheduling, including production planning and material planning.
- Knowledge of inventory management practices such as cycle counting and material handling.
- Ability to develop and maintain operational and performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Work Environment
The role is based in an industrial, climate-controlled facility designed to support efficient and comfortable production operations. You will work with modern ERP, MRP, and MES systems, including platforms such as NetSuite and Oracle, along with the Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and analysis. Candidates need to be open to working either day or night shifts. Standard shifts include 1st shift from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 2nd shift from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with a shift differential for second shift. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and reliable production processes within a controlled industrial setting.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr.
