Responsibilities
Job Summary
Performs administrative duties using computers and associated equipment within Maintenance Control. Schedules and tracks aircraft maintenance actions, monitors maintenance schedules for accuracy and completion, and provides assistance, guidance, and instruction to employees in Maintenance Control.
Requires a high degree of expertise in the control and coordination of aircraft maintenance, including thorough working knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals, publications, and aircraft maintenance records, as well as a working understanding of aircraft and aircraft systems. Must be able to schedule and track aircraft maintenance - including inspections, preservations, oil sampling, and engine washes/rinses - and operate two-way communication equipment while speaking clearly and concisely. Must be customer-oriented.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs the duties and responsibilities of the Maintenance Control Clerk and Aircraft Issuer/Dispatcher classifications
  • Establishes and maintains a maintenance system inspection schedule and assists in assigning work priorities to maintenance actions
  • Schedules all maintenance actions, including but not limited to:
    • Dailies and turn-around inspections
    • 140-day corrosion inspections
    • Daily flight schedule assignments
    • 14/28-day aircraft washes
    • Phase inspections
    • Transfer/acceptance inspections
    • Aircraft static display requests
    • Preservation/de-preservation
  • Oversees the Configuration Management Program
  • Authorizes the cannibalization process; tracks cannibalization and maintains liaison with Supply
  • Maintains cleanliness of the work center and assigned work area
  • Adheres to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention rules and regulations
  • Adheres to the Company Tool Control Program
  • Screens maintenance actions for post-maintenance check flight requirements
  • Prepares aircraft readiness reports
  • Monitors the high-time component tracking program
  • Monitors aircraft issuing/scheduling to ensure daily schedule completion
  • Verifies completion of required maintenance by checking applicable maintenance forms
  • Releases aircraft or returns aircraft for completion of maintenance
  • May be required to perform off-site service at assigned detachments

Qualifications
Qualification Standards
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Satisfactory completion of U.S. Armed Forces aviation maintenance courses (or equivalent curriculum), or five (5) years of on-the-job training/experience
  • Five (5) years of experience in military or civilian aviation maintenance/production control and scheduling
  • Must meet all Government/Company licensing and qualification requirements for the position
  • Valid state driver's license required
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) CAC (Commons Access Card)

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
Physical Demands
This role is typically performed in a maintenance control office environment, requiring physical movements and postures normally associated with office activities.
May require lifting objects up to 50 pounds. Special vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Work conditions range from minimal physical discomfort to environments involving inclement weather (temperature extremes, wind, rain, etc.).
May require work in high-noise areas and potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or electrical shock hazards.
