Quality Control Supervisor | Grocery Distribution

Location: Bloomfield, CT
Salary: $60,000 to $63,000 per year
Employment Type: Full-time

Epic Personnel Partners is hiring an experienced Quality Control Supervisor for a high-volume grocery distribution facility in Bloomfield, Connecticut.

This position oversees daily quality-control activities to ensure products meet company, customer, food-safety, and regulatory standards. The QC Supervisor will lead quality employees, inspect products, monitor storage conditions, maintain accurate records, and quickly resolve quality issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide daily direction to quality-control employees
  • Inspect incoming, stored, selected, and outgoing grocery products
  • Monitor product condition, packaging, labeling, expiration dates, and temperature requirements
  • Identify damaged, expired, contaminated, or noncompliant products
  • Place affected products on hold and coordinate proper disposition
  • Maintain accurate inspection reports, temperature logs, and quality records
  • Investigate product complaints, damages, and quality discrepancies
  • Assist with product recalls, audits, corrective actions, and traceability procedures
  • Monitor refrigerated, frozen, and dry-storage areas for compliance
  • Train employees on food safety, product handling, sanitation, and quality procedures
  • Partner with receiving, inventory, shipping, sanitation, and operations teams
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable food-safety regulations
  • Identify recurring quality issues and recommend process improvements
  • Communicate quality concerns and inspection results to management

Qualifications

  • Previous quality control, quality assurance, food safety, grocery, warehouse, or distribution experience
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of product inspection, temperature control, sanitation, and food-handling practices
  • HACCP, SQF, GMP, or food-safety training is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping skills
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable using computers, spreadsheets, scanners, and warehouse systems
  • Ability to work in dry, refrigerated, and freezer areas as needed
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced distribution environment
  • Flexible availability, including overtime and weekends when required

Compensation

$60,000 to $63,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
