Job description

LD Plastics is seeking a hands-on Production Shop Technician to join our growing manufacturing team. This role supports the fabrication of acrylic and plastic components used in retail displays and commercial products. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, safety conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.

This position involves operation of fabrication equipment including table saws, routers, drilling equipment, and secondary finishing tools. You will play an important role in maintaining production flow, product quality, and overall shop efficiency.

Duties

  • Operate production equipment including table saws, table routers with power feeds, overhead pin routers, drilling equipment, and other fabrication tools
  • Measure, cut, fabricate, and finish acrylic and plastic components according to work instructions and production requirements
  • Safely move raw materials and finished products throughout the facility using carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts
  • Maintain organized and clean work areas while following all shop safety procedures
  • Inspect parts for quality, accuracy, and workmanship during production
  • Support production schedules and work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet deadlines
  • Assist with setup adjustments, tooling changes, and basic equipment maintenance as needed
  • Follow standard operating procedures and contribute to continuous improvement efforts throughout the shop

Requirements

  • Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, woodworking, plastics, sign production, cabinet shops, or related production environments preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with power tools and production equipment
  • Ability to read tape measures and follow production drawings or work instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a production environment
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Forklift experience is a plus
  • Ability to lift materials regularly and stand for extended periods throughout the shift
