Job Description:
The Assistant Manager, Production supports the daily operations of AAON's manufacturing floor, ensuring production goals are met efficiently and safely. This role assists in supervising teams, coordinating schedules, and maintaining quality standards across HVAC product lines. The position requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. It serves as a key link between frontline employees and upper management.
Primary Duties
The Assistant Manager, Production plays a critical role in overseeing manufacturing processes and supporting team performance. Responsibilities include:
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting in the planning and coordination of production schedules to meet customer demand and inventory targets.
  • Supervising production staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and operational procedures.
  • Monitoring workflow and identifying areas for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
  • Collaborating with engineering, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to resolve production issues.
  • Supporting training and development initiatives for production employees.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Participating in daily production meetings and reporting key metrics to management.
  • Leading by example to foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Job Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma or GED. Associate's or bachelor's degree in manufacturing, business management, or a related field is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in HVAC or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, workflow optimization, and quality control.
