JOB SUMMARY: 

Performs seat assembly operations on a production line.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Team Members      will work in a self-directed workforce.

Ensure that all quality, safety, and productivity standards are maintained

Identify safety improvement opportunities and generate safety resolutions throughout the workplace

Ensure that Team Members are reliable, do their best, and are always striving to deliver high-quality products to our customers

Recognize scrap, defects, or quality issues

Operate quickly to resolve quality problems, and consistently review quality alerts and metrics

Complete product repairs, if needed

Participate in improvements of Standard Work Instruction changes and updates

Perform all fast-paced automotive assembly duties and achieve high-quality standards

Guarantee that Standard Work Instructions are followed

Enhance and support continuous improvement efforts

Adhere to all policies and procedures

Inspect equipment, tools, structures, or materials to identify repair needs or other defects

The ability to rotate and achieve all duties associated with work cell(s) by learning all tasks

Maintain and/or exceed production targets

Completes assembly tasks in accordance with standardized work processes, quality goals, and manufacturing schedules.

Controls non-conforming material.

Reports defects in parts/material to the Team Leader, Production Supervisor or Quality immediately.

Performs seat teardowns and/or minor rework on or offline.

Maintains integrity of tooling and equipment necessary to perform work; makes minor adjustments to the equipment as needed.

Initiates, recommends or provides solutions through appropriate channels; participates in Kaizen/MPS activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, ability, and/or physical demands required. Education/Certification/Licensure:  Education; minimum completion of grade 12, post-secondary education preferred. 

Experience: 

Manufacturing or Seating Building experience, a plus; but not needed

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Able to interact with people at all levels and departments.

Detailed oriented.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL ABILITIES: 

Work performed in a manufacturing plant environment. Exposed to varying temperatures within the plant depending upon external weather conditions.
