Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports production on the shop floor by operating and troubleshooting multiple pieces of ancillary equipment and machines. Press Operators assist in housekeeping and material/scrap transport as well. Press Operators monitor and respond to machine alarms engaging in basic troubleshooting and repairs. Press Operators perform quality checks as well and work in a fast-paced team environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Undertake all duties and responsibilities in full accordance with the company's Health & Safety Policy and Procedures
  • Monitor and troubleshoot support machinery (Flexlink, AGV Unloader, Sorters/Loaders, Stacker and iCarts)
  • Know the troubleshooting guides and basic HMI operations of the support equipment.
  • Handle wash trays with another team member and repair nests (full, partial, rejected and empty wash trays).
  • Process reject wash trays and obtain samples per policy. Reinsert or dump depending on results.
  • Dumping scrap barrels from redraws, cupper, flexlink and sorters.
  • Ability to clear cascade jams and restart the equipment.
  • Familiar with all of the Quality procedures (containment, reintroduction, can inspections).
  • Operate equipment such as forklift and RICO to dump scrap hoppers and move coils.
  • Perform housekeeping duties such as picking up cans, mopping, cleaning out equipment and enclosures
  • Replace and move waste collection totes via forklift and know hazardous waste label requirements
  • Change out and replace Renoform oil barrel on the emulsion systems.
  • Operate manual push trolleys on Line 5 moving a stack of wash trays from loader to washer or return conveyor to loader
  • Participate in documentation control and completing required logs
  • Escalate any issues that can't be resolved to the Press Tech and Production Supervisor
  • Follow all documented processes and procedures to maintain standard work / best practices adherence.
  • Adhere to all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and follow all safety processes and protocols

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Fast paced, high intensity teamwork environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose automated production machinery
  • Ability to actively listen and read comprehensive documents
  • Flexible and willing to perform other tasks as assigned
  • Team player, dedicated to overall company performance and the ability to get along with others
  • Self-motivated with enthusiasm and drive; able to work independently as needed
  • Reliable attendance on-site required
  • Ability to work various shifts if needed, to support a 24/7 operation
  • Must be at least 18 years or older

  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, lift and crouch very frequently
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, use tools and equipment, manipulate, handle or feel small parts for inspection
  • Occasionally required to sit in order to work on a computer
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 35lbs. frequently
  • Ability to inspect small parts visually and with the use of magnifying equipment
  • Strong depth perception to set up equipment and to operate forklifts
