JOB DETAILS

Principle assignment is manual unskilled work, using various hand tools and equipment to support production within the manufacturing environment. Associate must demonstrate the ability to be moved to a higher job class as positions become available.

Preferred Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in manufacturing environment
  • Ability to operate and use efficiently computerized production systems (i.e., Plant Workflow, MRP and Inventory Management systems)

Required Education / Experience / Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficient verbal and written English communication skills

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Distinguish different product sizes and lengths
  • Secure label, label products, cartons, packs, thread protectors, etc.
  • Meet established quality standards for all work performed
  • Complete daily work as scheduled for maximum utilization of production
  • Anticipate changeovers and have readily available material and equipment required to minimize loss of production time
  • Meet production volume required in accordance with established methods and standards and in accordance with the production schedule
  • Ensure use of safety devices and PPE
  • Maintain a constant alert for unsafe conditions and practices and correct or report them immediately
  • Responsible for housekeeping in various assigned areas and the plant facility in general
  • Clean all products from oil, dust and/or paint
  • Assist as “helper” to other production associates and operators as needed
  • Cross-trains in department processes and procedures as directed by supervision and in various departments on machine operation and/or production functions for possible movement to higher job class
  • Responsible for identification, documentation, segregation, evaluation and disposition of non-conforming product, services, and systems
  • All department processes and procedures documented and the appropriate individual(s) trained and cross-trained as necessary
  • Performs other duties as required and directed by Plant Supervision
  • When necessary, does similar or general type work in other classifications
  • May be required to rotate shifts or work at other nearby facilities as required
